Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals Online

Since Today is Black Friday, I figured I'd make a post about how I go about saving money and getting really great deals during this time of year.

First of all, I don't go stand in line for hours on Black Friday. Of course, if you're into that type of thing, just check out any stores website to see what deals they will be having and to double check their policies for said deals. BUT! If you're like me and do most of your shopping online, hopefully these tips will help:

1. Get cash back for all of your online purchases!
If you're going to shop online at all you should try to use a third party website that will track your purchases and give you cash back for them. It sounds a bit taunting at first, but just reassure yourself - these 3rd party sites are are only tracking your purchases to collect data and improve your shopping experience in the long run.
  • My favorite site to use to get cash back is Ebates. This is a double-wammy because you not only get cash back for your purchases, but you can also access hundreds of coupon codes for discounts, free shipping, and even free samples. I wrote a post about this one back in August. I just can't stop:
  • Ebates Coupons and Cash Back
  • You can also get cash back through "GPT" sites like InboxDollars. You can earn money a lot of other ways on this website also, but one option is through shopping online.
  • Also, check your personal banking website to see if they offer a similar service. I know that Bank of America offers cash back for certain online purchases through their BankAmeriDeals program.

2. Comparison shop!
The process of finding the best deal doesn't have to be strenuous. I always check at least 3 top retailers for the product that I want before deciding. If you don't want to go to each individual site, you can check out a site like bizrate that will comparison shop for you. Just search for the item you want and bizrate will search for the best deal. You can also find product reviews on this site.

3. Use a "deals database" site
My final (and perhaps most useful) tip for Black Friday and Cyber Monday savings is to find a website that does all the footwork for you. During this stressful time of year, take shortcuts when you can. There are plenty of websites that search the internet high and low for excellent deals and compile them all in one place.

  • My favorite site to use during this time of year is Raining Hot Coupons! The site is full of fresh posts about deals going on everywhere online and in stores... and it's constantly updated. This amazing site is run by a sweet girl named Sarah. She gives away hundreds of amazon gift cards each year on Thanksgiving weekend. It is so fun to try and find the hidden code before anyone else.
  • Another great site for this is Hip2save! Once again, you can find deals from all over in one place on this website. Let Collin and her team do all the work finding all the deals and hidden gems, but still reap the benefits!

Alright, So those are my 3 top tips for saving during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Let me know in the comments if you've scored any really awesome deals this season.

The Smell Goods

Welcome to my box of smell goods
I love candles, incense, oils, waxes, infusers, air fresheners... all of it. I have so many different scents that I can't possibly use them all at once. So when they are not in use, I keep them in this little box. It is a nice way to store things that are not "in season" or that you simply don't want to smell at the moment.

Just recently I swapped out my summer scents for ones that are more fitting for fall and winter. I put away my "Caribbean Escape" candle and pulled out the "Leaves" scented candle. (Leaves is my favorite fall scent from Bath and Body works). I also have my Vanilla Bean Noel and Winter Candy Apple candles on standby just waiting for December, which is right around the corner.

I also like to make my own candles and tarts to melt. Just last weekend I made a whole batch of tarts that are Vanilla Mint scented. I already had to test them out in my wax burner and they smell great. It gets me really excited for the winter holidays.

Do you like to switch out your scents as the seasons change or do you just stick to your favorites all year round? Let me know what some of your favorite scents are in the comments below!

If you shop online...

If you shop online at all, do yourself a favor and shop through Ebates!

Ebates is an awesome website that gives you cash back for shopping online as well as provides coupon codes for discounts and samples. This isn't like Amazon or Ebay; You still shop your favorite sites, you just use the link provided by Ebates and automatically earn cash back. The amount of cash back you can receive is dependent on the percentage rate Ebates offers for that site as well as the amount you spend on your purchase. Obviously the more you spend, the more cash back you get. If you purchase hotel rooms, plane tickets, or any other high-priced items online, you are shooting yourself in the foot by not taking advantage of this website! Your cash back could be in the hundreds!

Creating an account through Ebates is extremely easy. Plus, you earn a $10 gift card just for signing up! This opportunity should be a no-brainer!! If you're already buying things online, why not get some of that money back? So, check it out and let me know what you think!

Workout Everyday

I decided to make a set on Polyvore revolving around fitness motivation. I recommend to any of you that you always reward yourself when you reach a personal fitness goal. I like to reward myself with something that is fitness related (like a new outfit, headphones, or a water bottle) to keep the focus on the healthy lifestyle, instead of splurging on a cheat meal. How do you like to reward yourself when you reach your goals?

Green Tea Benefits

I love love love green tea.

When I first started drinking tea I would load it down with sugar, then I switched to honey, and now I usually drink it plain or with fresh squeezed lemon. I've also recently started trying different flavors of green tea, like peach and lemon. They are super good and smell amazing. I drink at least 2 cups of green tea every morning when I get to work and I usually drink another cup of de-caffeinated green tea at night before I go to bed.

Green tea has a multitude of health benefits. But, to be honest, I didn't start drinking green tea because of all the health-hype that surrounds it. I actually just wanted something without a lot of calories to help me wake up in the morning so I could be more alert at work. (I'm not really a morning person.)

After drinking this magic "cure all" for so long, I started noticing that I don't get sick anymore like I used to. I used to get sick a few times a year. Now, I barely ever get a runny nose. I think a lot of that has to do with my frequent green tea drinking. I decided to do some research on the topic and wanted to share that information with you guys. Here are the benefits I found:

  • Cellular health - green tea contains catechins, which are antioxidants that promote healthy cells. Catechins help fight against and prevent cellular damage. The less tea is processed, the more catechins it contains. Since green tea is not processed as much as other teas, it is higher in catechins.
  • Healthy Brain - Since green tea promotes healthy cells, it is no surprise that it also helps your brain. The amount of antioxidants found in green tea help blood flow to your brain. Some studies suggest green tea helps prevent or slow down certain brain diseases such as Alzheimer's and Dementia.
  • Weight loss - Green tea is a natural diuretic. It is has been found that green tea can speed up your metabolism and help your body burn fat faster and more regularly. Also, just by replacing other sugary beverages with green tea, you'll be reducing your calories and sugar intake immensely. Just be sure to not load your green tea with too much sugar. Try agave nectar or honey as a substitute if you can't handle the bitter taste of plain green tea.
  • Blood pressure - The Catechins in green tea will also help stabilize your blood sugar and blood pressure levels. This can help fight the damage that a high-fat diet can cause. If you drink more green tea regularly you will greatly reduce your risk of getting diabetes.
  • Cancer - The antioxidants in green tea support existing healthy cells and keep them strong. Many studies claim that because of this green tea can help prevent cancer and the cellular damage it may cause.
  • Stress - Lastly, green tea can help reduce stress levels. Green tea contains theanine, which is an amino acid that helps calm you. Not only that, tea helps you relax when you slow down to steep a cup of tea and sip it slowly.

Sipping green tea is one of the easiest things you can do to improve your health in so many different ways. Remember, green tea comes in a variety of choices including caffeinated and non-caffeinated, so you can drink it all day long and into the evening. What is your favorite type of green tea? Do you have a favorite brand or particular flavor that you drink often? Please share in the comments.

This set is a culmination of three themes: classic, casual, and feminine. The nude trench coat and heels give this outfit a classic look. Wear a white tee and messenger bag to keep it casual. Last, add a rose gold watch and heart-shaped studs for that feminine touch.

Casual Layering

I really like the look of layering. It just gives everything an instant comfy vibe. In this look I mixed upper class with casual street fashion. This burberry button-up shirt and Tory Burch Cardigan accent each other well. The anchor accessories give a playful and trendy feel. Of course the classic Converse tone everything down making this a great outfit to wear on a day out. What make this look even more perfect - there are endless ways you can pull off this same basic look. Plus I bet you already have these key pieces in your wardrobe: button-up shirt, cardigan, jeans, scarf, cross-body bag. Have fun fashion friends!
